Almost a Century of Change... ![]() Chartered on October 24, 1907 with a capital stock of $25,000, The First National Bank of Palmerton officially opened for business on January 6, 1908. The Borough of Palmerton's first financial institution established its office in a small brick building on Delaware Avenue. In years to come, this same location would be home to the Palmerton Lighting Company and, more recently, a florist. Responding
to the the economic boom of the roaring 20's, the Bank
expanded again in 1926, acquiring property and erecting a new building at Delaware Avenue
and Fourth Street. The custom-designed facility was equipped with the
most current equipment and conveniences, and was considered to be the
"very latest" in modern
banking construction. Thanks to the loyalty of thousands of customers, The First National Bank of Palmerton continues to grow and prosper in four of Northeastern Pennsylvania's most beautiful counties: Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe and Northampton. As our history proves, an unwavering commitment to providing quality financial services has played a critical role in our success. Originally born of the needs of a fledgling community, we have evolved into a rock-solid, caring, concerned citizen...interested and active in the current affairs of the communities we are privileged to serve. The First National Bank of Palmerton, a sole subsidiary of Palm-Bancorp, Inc. (a one bank holding company), is a federally chartered bank operating under the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.
